About Us

At Green Mango Goods we strive to find products that are both fun and functional and that also use fewer resources than their more traditional counterparts. Our merchandise is all made by socially conscious companies that are doing their part to provide fabulous products in a sustainable way.

The idea for Green Mango Goods originated on a playground in Chicago while owner Shoshana Cohen and her friend Noelle Krimm, who was instrumental in getting Green Mango Goods off the ground, pushed their children on the swings. When the Andersonville Galleria opened they knew it would be the perfect place to launch the store and everything came together from there.

Shoshana has a background in environmental science and urban planning. While serving in the Peace Corps in West Africa she saw firsthand how everyday objects could be recycled and given new lives again and again. She loves the idea of reducing waste by giving old items new function and she loves discovering the brilliant ways that people find to reuse objects.

Most of Shoshana’s career has been spent in the non-profit sector working in various ways to create sustainable communities. She is branching out with Green Mango Goods and hoping to harness the power of a for-profit business to help to create a sustainable world. In addition to starting Green Mango Goods, Shoshana does freelance Urban Planning research and writing. She and her husband Nigel are also busy raising two young daughters.
